We are just your normal (debatable) American family - two working parents with 2 small kids, enjoying/surviving life day by day. But… that involves the daily dreaded “What’s for dinner?” (Sorry! Like you don’t hear that or think about that enough!)
Ground beef is always one of our weekly go-to meal bases. It is high in protein, reasonably priced, and can be used for a variety of dishes – all great things,
right!? Right. EXCEPT it can be a total pain to cook! You have to stand there constantly chopping with a wooden spoon, spatula, or weird star tool
– but none of those help to break up the meat into small pieces. You end up with little stubborn chunks of ground beef that seem impossible to break up.
And if you get pulled away from the stove (kids, pets, phone call, other
food prep, someone at the door – all the things!), it somehow gets worse – the
meat cooks in its own grease and then those little balls are now IMPOSSIBLE to
break up!
I always thought, “There has to be a better way!” I just needed some type of utensil that will trap and smash up those stubborn, annoying meat chunks! I can’t let the meat win! Of all the things in life, I refuse to let ground beef be another mini-contribution to daily frustrations!
So I searched and searched and searched… but found nothing.
And then I thought and thought and thought about exactly what could solve this simple problem. I drew out my idea on a scrap piece of paper (not quite as romantic as a cocktail napkin)…
And then one day, I decided, if I didn’t do something about this idea, I would probably regret it, but worse, be doomed to the tedious task of cooking ground beef with inferior tools for the rest of my life!
